Wgtn-Akld-Hong Kong

Hi all. Arrived at Hong Kong only a few mins late after initially expecting to arrive early. Took a while to disembark as it seems there was no real rush to push the air bridges up to the plane.

So…. today it all started with an 8:30am flight to Auckland.  Quite a cruisy flight with good views of Taranaki & Egmont. Here’s a thrilling photo of our plane (ok I was bored!).
Img_6719I didn’t see anyone from 1 Vic waving as we flew by.  Maybe Matt X dropped all the blinds.
Img_6724A closer look at ‘Egmont’.
Img_6732The 3 hours at Auckland went surprisingly fast.  It really was a case of nek minut – on board!  I managed to nab this last second shot of our A340 arriving at Auckland.  Clean windows would’ve been handy. Sorry Ian, no chance of getting any decent shots of it at the gate.
Img_6743Flight CX198 to Hong Kong was scheduled at 11hrs 45mins and ended up using it all. Here’s the traditional cattle class cabin shot.
Img_6744Our stewardess was very attentive, polite, and pretty (as they tend to be).  I noted her very traditional name (Ann).  🙂
It’s now 31C in Hong Kong at 9pm. We trekked for miles (as you do here) through to the transfer security check and up a level and along several rugby fields to position ourselves by our departure gate.  You know what (just an observation). Walking to our gate was surprisingly similar to a stroll down Queens St Akld.  I didn’t feel out of place at all!  🙂

Ok… that’s it for now.  Just a quick burst en route. Dahhhh …  the woman doing the announcements here at the airport is seriously painful. Probably more so because I can’t understand a friggn’ word she’s saying.  Ahh… now we have an English version. A tad more refreshing to my untrained ear!  Nuff said. Hey…. I’m keen to know if the post alert emails are working.  Could someone who chose to ‘Follow’ please flick me a comment to confirm. Thanks.

One more pic. It’s seriously dark outside (as happens at night time!). I didn’t think the camera would cope without a flash for this shot. Turns out it ‘found’ some light and applied it. Nice. Our Cathay Pacific 777-300 for the journey to Frankfurt.  Just the 12hrs 05mins comin’ up. Ouch.
